The Loose Salute Album Released

"The Loose Salute's debut album Tuned To Love (due for release on June 5th) is now available for pre-order via Graveface Records. As a bonus, by pre-ordering you’ll also get a t-shirt with the album cover art.

The Loose Salute is a gang of friends whose members are about reporting back from the world they live in together, making records that represent something for them, and bringing out the sheer sense that creating music is a celebration, not a labor. The Loose Salute was formed by Ian McCutcheon (drummer of Mojave 3) and Lisa Billson, who met Ian after he heard her singing along to Bob Dylan songs. Tuned To Love was made anywhere that the vibe was right - living rooms, garages, even Ian’s mum’s kitchen. Performing on the record is the core band of Ian (Drums & Vocals), Lisa (Vocals), Pete Greenwood (Guitars), Charlotte King (Harmonies & Percussion) and Al Forrester (Piano & Organ). Paul Noble added some Bass, surf Guitar and mixing skills and Ian’s school-yard buddy Pritpal Soor added some more electric Bass, Keys and a producer’s ears."

M. Ward on Minnesota Public Radio

M. Ward performed live at MPR studios in St. Paul, MN on May 7, 2007.

"Early in his career M. Ward had hoped to go to Europe 'on someone else's dime'. He's had that opportunity a few times and is about to do it again while touring in support of Norah Jones. During his interview with Barb Abney he admitted to being a little starstruck when he met Odetta at Carnegie Hall when they performed together at the Bruce Springsteen tribute show. He also talked about the process of recording the score to "The Go-Getter" which made it's debut at Sundance earlier this year; and his upcoming appearances with The Boston Pops Orchestra next month." Fred Kendal Abong - Moonman

"Rhode Island singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Fred Kendal Abong is mostly known as onetime bass player for both Throwing Muses and Belly. For the last two years, however, Fred has been busy writing and performing his own material. Moonman is a small sample of the more than one hundred songs written and recorded during this fertile period. Half-electric and half-acoustic, the songs on Moonman have drawn comparisons to The Replacements, Tom Waits, Meat Puppets, The Clash, Firehose, and Bob Dylan."

Moonman was released on 75 or Less Records (75OL-010) in October 2006 in a special hand silkscreened edition of 150 copies.
