WORLD PREMIERE ANNOUNCED
September 15th, 2006

"It is with great pleasure, that I announce that the World Premiere of “Scott Walker: 30 Century Man” will take place Tuesday, October 31st at 6:30 pm as part of the 50th London Film Festival. Screening will be at the National Film Theatre in NFT1. A second screening will follow on November 1 at 1:15 in NFT2. More information, including ticket sales, can be found here.

Hard to believe that an idea that sprang to mind in July 2001 will now come to life across that huge screen in the NFT…couldn’t have done it without the amazing creative team that has been working with me, all the people who have supported this project in one way or other over the years, and of course, the generosity of Scott Walker, inviting us into his creative world, if only for a moment…it has been an incredible journey. Look forward to sharing it with you all.

“…and we’ll dream, won’t we?”

SK

(and for non-London residents, or those not jet-setting in for the big night, the film will be released in cinemas in the UK soon, and be sure to join the mailing list to be kept up-to-date on other festival screenings around the world.)"

Celebration #3: 1980 Forward (backwards)

4AD label events and showcases have a good tradition of featuring external (i.e. unsigned by 4AD) support acts - just think Heavenly Bodies, Medicine, Ether or the "Echoes from the Cross" ensemble. The 1980 Forward celebration in November 2005 again featured a few bands and artists not signed to 4AD:

Southern Records signing Todd ("London's most primal chaotic rock unit") have been a regular support for 4AD artists (The Breeders, Cass McCombs and Vinny Miller) before the Celebration/Wolf & Cub gig at the Water Rats. And again, unprepared listeners took immediate shelter at the bar. Strictly BYE (bring your earplugs)!

Manchester-based Polytechnic joined The Breeders at Blackheath Halls on Saturday. The band have since toured extensively, played several radio sessions and released two singles on Transgressive.

Singer-songwriter Jont supported The Mountain Goats and Emma Pollock at Bush Hall. On the occasion of his debut EP release "One Long Song" (Nov. 21, 2005 on Everybody's Records) AngryApe and Gigwise conducted interviews with him days after this gig.

v23 design Silent Sound

On Thursday 14th September 2006 Ian Forsyth and Jane Pollard staged "a uniquely emotive experience which explores the mind's susceptibility to subliminal suggestion". The performance, called "Silent Sound", took place in the Small Concert Hall in St. George's Hall in Liverpool. From 15 September to 26th November 2006, an installation of "Silent Sound" is presented as part of the inaugural programme at the major new contemporary art space, Greenland Street. In-depth information on the performance and installation are available on the Silent Sound site and the networked_performance blog.

A limited edition signed and numbered CD recording is available for pre-order now, with a DVD documentary to follow in 2007. The graphic design has been conceived and executed by Chris Bigg and Vaughan Oliver at v23.
