March Of Clouds Single Released

"Since roaring to life in 2003, Wolf & Cub have been on a rapid assault course to the top, backed by fiery, filled-to-bursting live performances. They have honed their cauterizing sound through constant touring, supporting the esteemed likes of TV On The Radio, The Killers and Queens of the Stone Age (at Josh Homme's personal request).

Wolf & Cub began 2007 supporting Wolfmother on their tour of Japan, the UK and Europe. Wolf & Cub then returned to the UK for a solid month of back-to-back club shows, before headlining three club shows in New York. This was followed by performances at SXSW, playing at the highly acclaimed 4AD Records show case and the SXSW Australian BBQ. To finish their international tour, Wolf & Cub played two more club shows in LA before returning home.

They now announce the release of their new single 'March Of Clouds' (DOT007CD). Featured on the single are non-album track 'Chameleon and the Snakes' and the Serge Santiago dub remix of 'This Mess'.

March Of Clouds is out April 28."

Harold Budd: 'Perhaps' and Podcast

"There is a new samadhisound podcast available. It features an intimate conversation between Harold Budd and Akira Rabelais in which Harold discusses the classic 'The Pavilion of Dreams', the album 'Perhaps', and why he decided to describe 'Avalon Sutra' as his valedictory effort. This can be downloaded for free through iTunes (where you can also subcribe to the podcast). You may be able to access it directly here but we would recommend accessing it via iTunes for simplicity.

We hope you enjoy it."

Conor Oberst Explains Friendship With M. Ward

"The pair has been virtually inseparable lately. Both artists appear on each other's albums, at each other's live shows and are often spotted out together enjoying a cocktail. Conor Oberst tells the story of how the dynamic duo met to AOL's The Spinner. (photo credit: Sebastian Mlynarski).

I was on tour with Desarecidos, which is an old band of mine, and we had to kick the bass player out. And the only thing we could agree on to listen to in the van was M. Ward. We got to Portland and it was sort of agreed the I'd play solo. But we were supposed to play with all these kind of loud bands. Long story short, I called up a booking agent friend of mine and he said, 'Well, you know, M. Ward lives in Portland. We could call him.' And then 20 minutes later, he jumps in the van and drives to San Francisco. Friends ever since."

Tanya Donelly Live at the Windham 8-28-04

A few extra live tracks from the This Hungry Life weekend are now up at Slumberland. This set consisted of mostly older solo songs as well as a few from the Belly days. You can still tip Tanya on this page for these nice giveaways!

"Hi. Here are most of the songs from the other Windham set, as promised. The mixes are not wonderful, and unlike THL, this is just a straightforward, stripped-down, warts-and-all live set. The missing WTG songs from this set weren’t included because they sound almost identical to the record. The musicians: me on vocals and guitar, Dean on guitar and percussion, Rich Gilbert on pedal steel and guitar, and Peter Moore on keyboards and vocals. Thanks to Vicky for coming over to my house and doing all the work. And for witnessing firsthand my negative magnetic effect on computers. No tipping! Seriously -- stay away from that jar.

Love to all,
T"
